Ali Reza Hakim, an architect by profession, was born and raised in Srinagar, Kashmir. A self-taught artist, the rich art and handicraft legacy of the state stimulated the creativity within him. Also having some family background of art inspired him to explore various mediums to express his thoughts and ideas. Mostly working with graphite and charcoal, he also uses other techniques like stippling, watercolors as well as digital art. Having a keen interest in the vernacular heritage, some of his works framed in the relics of the past, reflect his ideas of reviving the dying traditions.    

 

Ali Reza Hakim, un architetto di professione, è nato e cresciuto a Srinagar, Kashmir. Artista autodidatta, la ricca eredità artistica e artigianale dello Stato ha stimolato la creatività dentro di lui. Inoltre, avere un background artistico familiare lo ha ispirato a esplorare vari mezzi per esprimere i suoi pensieri e idee. Lavora principalmente con grafite e carbone, usa anche altre tecniche come la punteggiatura, gli acquerelli e l'arte digitale. Avendo un vivo interesse per il patrimonio vernacolare, alcune delle sue opere incorniciate nelle reliquie del passato, riflettono le sue idee di far rivivere le tradizioni morenti.
